Mangalore, Mar 22: Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy has organized a conference of Tulu writers at Raveendra Kala Mantapa in University College here on Sunday March 25.
Dr B A Viveka Rai, vice-chancellor of Kannada University Hampi will inaugurate the conference while noted litterateur K T Gatti will grace the occasion as chief guest. Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president M K Sitaram Kulal will preside over.
Noted and senior Tulu writers will deliver lecture on various subjects. During the first session Dr Paltadi Ramakrishna Achar and Dr Vasant Kumar Perla will present their views on "Problems Faced by Tulu Writers in Writing Tulu." At the second session Bannanje Babu Amin, Tulu and Kannada writer and Muddu Moodbelle would present a paper on "Publishing Problems Faced by Tulu Books." At the final session all the Tulu writers will discus about the possibility of forming a federation of Tulu writers. The session will be moderated by Dr Gananath Yekkar, scholar and member of Tulu Academy.
The valedictory ceremony of the conference and the Tulu books' award presentation ceremony will be held on Sunday evening.
District-in-charge minister Nagaraj Shetty will present awards to the winners for the years 2004 and 2005. MLA N Yogish Bhat and Prof A V Navada, a well-known researcher and professor in Kannada University, Hampi will be the chief guests on the occasion.
Dr Vaman Nandavar, a noted folklore scholar will deliver the valedictory speech while Tulu academy president M K Sitaram Kulal will preside over.
