Bantwal, Mar 23: A bicycle rider was killed after his bicycle rolled down into a gorge by the roadside at Marnabail near here on Thursday March 22 evening.
The deceased has been identified as Rukmayya Poojary (60), a resident of Marnabail. He was on his way with a sack of beedies when he lost control over the bicycle. As a result, bicycle rolled down into a 15 feet deep gorge.
Rukmayya sustained critical injuries in his head and also on other parts of body. Though he was immediately rushed into hospital, he succumbed to injuries there later.
Bantwal town police have registered a case this regard.
