Moodbidri, Mar 24: Computer has become part of our life but it should not put the human brain to rest, said Academy of General Education (AGE) (Manipal) Registrar K K Pai.

Speaking after inaugurating a two-day State-level seminar on "Integrating computers in teaching Science" at Sri Mahaveera College in Moodbidre on Friday, he said there is tremendous change in every field because of computers.

In fact, there is a boom in IT sector, he said and called upon the youth to make use of the opportunities.

"There is no use of discussing about brain drain today," he said.

AGE Administrator Dr Shantharam said teachers should keep pace with the changing times. They should update their knowledge on the latest developments in the subject, he suggested.

Dr P Nagabhushan of Department of Studies in Computer Science, Manasagangothri, Mysore, said that computers can not replace human brains.

Sri Mahaveera College Administrative Council President Prof S N Diwakar presided. Sri Mahaveera College Principal Prof T K Mohan welcomed the gathering.

As many as 50 delegates from various colleges in the State participated in the seminar.
