Mangalore, Mar 24: Jagannath Rath Yatra organized by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was held in the city on Friday Mach 23 evening.

The famous Jagannath yatra is held worldwide in cities like London, Paris, Moscow, Rome, New York.  In India it is held in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkatta and Bangalore.

More than 200 devotees from nearly 40 countries chanting 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' accompanies the chariot decorated with colourful lights.  The Rath Yatra also saw the participation of Safari group Lord Krishna devotees from nearly 40 different countries.

The Rath Yatra which was flagged-off from Bunts Hostel Circle passed through Kadri Road, Mallikatta, Collector's Gate and Jyothi Circle before returning to Bunts Hostel.

The procession was inaugurated and blessed by ISKCON chief and governing body commissioner Sri Jayapatak Swamiji Maharaj from USA. 

Pravachans (sermons) were also preached by Sri Bhakti Sidhantha Mahraj from Australia and Vrajendra Nandana Maharaj from Malaysia.
