Kolkata, May 7 (IANS): Even as it is planning to stage a demonstration in the national capital against the "terror tactics" of West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress during the recently concluded civic polls, the Left Front said it will not raise the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the state.

Left Front Chairman Biman Bose said the front will not go for an "unholy nexus" with the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool to form the boards in the hung civic bodies.

"The municipal polls being a state subject, it is no point raising the issue with the prime minister. We will not raise the issue with him, but we are planning to stage a demonstration in the national capital to make the whole country aware about the Trinamool's terror tactics," Bose told mediapersons here.

In the wake of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee seeking a meeting with Modi, who will arrive here on May 9 on a two-day visit, Bose said the Trinamool was "cozying up" to the BJP.

The Left Front has been calling the recent civic polls a "farce" alleging widespread violence and strong arm tactics by the Trinamool.

Besides winning 70 of the 92 civic bodies in the districts, the Trinamool bagged 114 of the 144 wards in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

Bose said a memorandum to Governor K.N. Tripathi will be submitted over the Trinamool administration filing false cases against Left workers and activists.

"We are compiling documents of the fake cases that have been lodged against our party workers. We will send a deputation mentioning all the cases to the governor. If it doesn't yield result, we will demonstrate in every police station in the state," said Bose.

Talking about the 11 hung civic bodies, Bose asserted the front will not go for an alliance with the Trinamool to form the boards.

"All our elected councillors have been asked to maintain distance from the Trinamool. There should not be an unholy alliance between our candidates and the ruling party," added Bose.
