Cairn to upgrade ITIs in Rajasthan


Jaipur, May 7 (IANS): Cairn India -- a Vedanta Group company and an oil major -- will upgrade government-owned ITIs in Rajasthan's Barmer district, it was announced on Thursday.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard was signed here on Thursday between the Rajasthan government's Directorate of Technical Education and Cairn India Limited.

Under the MoU, Cairn will renovate infrastructure and provision for supplementary teachers in industrial training institutes which is required to deliver and implement the vocational training courses.

Rajasthan's Higher Education Minister Kalicharan Sarraf and Director of Technical Education A.K. Anand were present during the inking of the MoU.
