24 bogies of goods train derail in Bihar


Patna, May 8 (IANS): At least 24 bogies of a goods train were derailed in Bihar's Sasaram district on Friday,disrupting rail traffic on the busy Mughalsarai-Howrah route, officials said. No injuries were reported.

The accident occurred near Kumhu railway station and several metres of track were damaged, a railway official of East Central Railway said.

Some trains were stopped at different stations and several trains have been diverted."It will take at least five to six hours before normal traffic can resume," officials said.

The railway authorities have began a probe into the cause of the derailment.
