Kuwait, Mar 27: Moath Al-Manayes, managing partner of Kuwait Neshami Company and the executive committee of Sharq United Club, Kuwait joined together to host a ‘Friendship Trophy’ as a farewell to Mahesh Prabhu, founder president of Sharq United.

In the 10-over a side mini-tourney played on Friday March 23, four leading teams of Kuwait namely, Sharq United-1, Sharq United-2, Bombay-XI and Sunny-XI contested.

After their victories in the preliminary rounds, Sharq United-1 led by Mahesh and Sunny-XI led by Sattar emerged into the finals. Sharq United-1 won the toss and elected to bat scoring 62/7 in 10 overs. Chasing 63, Sunny-XI were all out for 39 in 9 overs, thus ensuring Sharq United-1 an emphatic 23-run victory. Steve and Kalappa ably umpired for all matches during the day.

Moath Al-Manayes presented the winning trophy to Mahesh and Yousef Al-Fuzan of Gulf Insurance Company presented the runners-up trophy to Sattar. Sharq United’s new chairman – Manoj Sharma and the new president Patrick Pinto were part of the presentation ceremony, which was compered by Alwyn Fernandes, vice-president of Sharq United.
