Commuters stranded as DTC drivers go on strike


New Delhi, May 11 (IANS): Commuters depending on buses for their travel needs had a tough time on Monday after the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) drivers went on strike protesting against the murder of one of their colleagues here on Sunday.

The DTC buses stayed off roads and a huge rush was seen on Delhi Metro and private auto-rickshaws.

The driver, Ashok, was beaten to death by a motorcycle rider after the bus he was driving hit the motorcycle in Mundka area of west Delhi.
