LeT operative arrested in Uttar Pradesh


New Delhi, May 11 (IANS): Delhi Police has arrested from Uttar Pradesh an operative of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) that carried out the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, an official said on Monday.

The alleged terrorist, identified as Irfan, 50, was taken into custody last week from Bahraich district, said S.N. Srivastava, special commissioner in Delhi Police's Special Cell which made the arrest.

"He has worked for Indian Mujahideen and is wanted in several terrorist cases," Srivastava told IANS.

More than 160 Indians and foreigners were killed when LeT terrorists from Pakistan attacked Mumbai in November 2008.
