Congress extends date of enrolment

New Delhi, May 14 (IANS): The Congress on Thursday extended the date of enrolment of party members by a month from May 15 to June 15.

"The election authority of the party has extended the date of enrolment of party members by one more month i.e. from May 15 to June 15. The revised organisational election schedule will be announced shortly," said a release issued by party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi.

Speculation is rife that party vice president Rahul Gandhi could take over as president from his mother Sonia Gandhi as part of organisational elections.
