Petroleum minister to lead business delegation to Mexico, Colombia


New Delhi, May 16 (IANS): Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will lead a business delegation to Mexico and Colombia from May 18 to 22 to meet their counterparts in energy sector, a FICCI statement said here on Saturday.

"This delegation will meet up with their counterparts in Mexico's and Colombia's energy industry and discuss important areas of cooperation which include joint development offshore and onshore oil & gas fields, partner in hydrocarbon engineering services and understand the country's fiscal regime to explore opportunities of business partnership among both the countries," the statement said.

Apart from the public sector undertakings, a private sector presence is being coordinated by Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

The minister is also expected to pay a visit to the energy ministers of Mexico and Colombia and discuss about key enabling policies which would facilitate an increased energy trade.

The industry honchos who will be there in the delegation are - B. Ashok, chairman, Indian Oil Corporation, N.K. Verma, managing director (MD), ONGC Videsh, Mayank Ashar, MD & chief executive officer (CEO), Cairn India, Rajeev Sharma, CEO, Adani Gas, Atul Laul, president - strategy and business development, Reliance Industries Ltd among many others.
