Hyderabad, Apr 2: At a time when corporates are turning out cricketers from ads, a new book by VVS Laxman talks about how to apply cricketing strategies to increase wealth.

Having been kept out of the world cup team, VVS Laxman is having a close look at how to apply cricketing strategies to increase his wealth.

Unveiling this new book titled Winning the Wealth Game, Laxman would surely need tips on how to invest wisely and at the right time and what could have made this 281 not out batsman a fixed deposit with the Indian team .

"I am a very safe investor. I never really related cricket to investment but after this book I will talk to my wealth manager and find out if he is doing the right thing," he said.

The book has some very interesting comparisons on how real estate is like a wicket keeper batsman with multiple benefits , how debt is your defensive batsman tiding over hostile bowling and how insurance is necessary but still the 12th Man. So did the selectors invest in the right stocks at the world cup?

"Although Sehwag did better in subsequent matches he is more like a small cap stock which will deliver but is risky. Also because of his inexperience, Uttapa is also small cap. On the other hand Dinesh Karthik is dependable, so he is like debt. We needed a more balanced allocation," said Sanjiv Mehta, Author, Winning the Wealth Game.

The author has some interesting advice for the cricket lovers. He feels that if they can devote a bit of the time they spend watching cricket to building your financial innings, they could have the lifestyle that of a cricketer.
