New Delhi, May 19 (IANS): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday asked party workers in Delhi to go to the people and publicise achievements of the central government during the last one year.
Speaking at the state executive committee meeting of BJP, Jaitley said Jan Dhan Yojna, Beti Padhao Beti Bachao, Atal Pension Yojna, Insurance policies for poor, direct subsidy in bank, uniform GST, Swachchta Abhiyan are all successful schemes benefiting the poor.
The union minister also accused the Congress of playing "petty politics" over the land bill.
"Land acquisition bill is originally a Congress bill of 2013... but now for petty politics Congress is opposing it. Earlier Congress became synonymous with corruption now it is proving to be anti-development too," Jaitley said.
He added: "The union government is working hard and extended help to farmers affected by unseasonal rains."
