Administration at a standstill in Delhi: BJP

New Delhi, May 19 (IANS): Administration has come to a standstill in Delhi due to the ongoing tussle between Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi assembly Vijender Gupta said here on Tuesday.

In a statement issued by his office, Gupta said as a result of the dichotomy, the entire administration of the Delhi government had come to a standstill.

"Kejriwal has badly failed to establish understanding and coordination with the officers and the Lt. Governor. He has shown disastrous lack of leadership qualities, so essential for running the government," the BJP leader said.

"His efforts to stifle the media are well known and have shown no sign of improvement. He has also not released funds to the civic bodies leading to their malfunctioning," he said.

Gupta said the Delhi chief minister "must remain in the limits of constitution and rules".

He must not waste his time in fruitless pursuits and work for basic issues like affordable housing for poor, regularisation of unauthorised colonies and development of slums, Gupta added.
