BFW acquires Proteck Machinery's turning business


Chennai, May 19 (IANS): As a part of its three year business plan, Bharat Fritz Werner (BFW), one of the leading supplier of machining centres and milling machines, has acquired the turning business of Proteck Machinery, a company official said.

"This acquisition is part of the investment plans of the company over the next three years. BFW is aggressively working towards import substitution," its CEO Ravi Raghavan told reporters here on Tuesday.

The acquisition is expected to make BFW, of the Kothari group, one of the leading players in the turning segment.

With a subsidiary in Germany, the over Rs.800 crore turnover BFW today caters to the global needs of customers for high-end milling needs.
