Sonata Software net up 72 percent in 2014-15


Bengaluru, May 19 (IANS): Leading IT consulting and services provider Sonata Software Ltd posted Rs.134 crore consolidated net profit for 2014-15, as against Rs.78 crore in the previous fiscal, registering a whopping 72 percent growth.

Declaring financial results for the fiscal and fourth quarter on Tuesday, the city-based firm said consolidated revenue growth, however, was only 7 percent to Rs.1,682 crore from Rs.1,566 crore last fiscal.

Consolidated net profit for Q4 increased 48 percent to Rs.35 crore from Rs.24 crore in like period year ago, but declined sequentially 2 percent from Rs.36 crore in third quarter.

Similarly, consolidated revenue for Q4 grew 15 percentto Rs.393 crore from Rs.341 crore in same period year ago but dipped sequentially 16 percent from Rs.467 crore in Q3.

Consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and ammortisation (Ebitda) grew 62 percent to Rs.191 crore from Rs.118 crore in the last fiscal and 44 percent for Q4 to Rs.50 crore from Rs.35 crore in same period year ago.

Export revenue increased 25 percent to Rs.607 crore from Rs.484 crore and 21 percent in Q4 to Rs.162 crore from Rs.134 crore in the same period last fiscal.

Domestic revenue growth from products and services, however, was flat at Rs.1,093 crore as against Rs.1,085 crore last fiscal though 15 percent up in Q4 to Rs.234 crore from Rs.207 crore in like period year ago.

"We had a strong services business revenue and consolidated profit growth performance through the fiscal, which was driven by new technologies like omni channel commerce, mobility, analytics," Sonata chief executive Srikar Reddy said in the statement.
