Washington, May 19: Microsoft's beloved card game that has had people hooked onto to their respective computers for ages has turned 25 on Monday the 18th of May.
The event, is to be celebrated with a head- to- head competition of international standards. And the preparations are already underway with the internal competitions proceeding as per plan. The Microsoft office at Redmond has had in-house match conducted on Monday that has determined the leader boards amongst the employees. These players from within the company will be playing off against those who win the matches set for the people across the globe.
The office put out a blog post to announce this exciting match and to invite interested players to participate in this unique way of celebrating the birthday of Solitaire. Their blog read, "It was 25 years ago that Microsoft Solitaire debuted on Windows, and to honor the decades of fun it's given us all, we're celebrating with two big competitions," The players who choose to participate can choose from any of the Solitaire games - FreeCell, Spider, Klondike, Tri-peaks or Pyramid.
The blog further read, "[Y]ou'll be challenged to bring your best to defeat our best. Are you up to the challenge? Get your Solitaire game on today." Windows availed off the opportunity to make it public, that they would include games such as Solitaire, Minesweeper, Hearts and Candy Crush Saga among others as part of the package with Windows 10. It further revealed that in Windows 10 users wouldn't need to have the game open on full screen in order to play it. Windows 10 will be equipped with a new operating system that will display modern apps on the desktop itself. The announcement was made as Microsoft had in the past stayed its hand and not included Solitaire as part of the package with Windows 8 and 8.1.
