Congress thinking on development, BJP about finding faults - Rai

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, May 20: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, B Ramanath Rai, gave a tongue-lashing to BJP by saying that BJP always is hell bent on finding fault with the Congress, whereas the Congress has riveted its focus on development alone.

He was addressing a press conference in his office at B C Road on Monday May 18.

'When the previous UPA government was ruling the country, the state and our district got several grants. MP, Nalin Kumar, did nothing but routing these grants. He has earned No 1 status because of the generosity of the previous regime at the centre,' he claimed.

Rai criticized the present central government of pruning down grants to the state. He said these cuts have been plaguing ambitious schemes like Nagarothana, central awards etc. He criticized the MP for just spending whatever grants have been received, and not showing enough will power to get additional grants sanctioned to the district.

Rai hailed the UPA government for the schemes which were introduced by it like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, National Rural campaign, Horticultural Mission, Sarva Shikshana Abhiyan, Arogya Abhiyan, Nirmala Grama, Indira Awaz etc. All these people-friendly schemes have been implemented by the state government headed by Siddarmaiah, and they will inspire people to vote for Congress and ensure its victory during gram panchayat election, he stressed.
