Mangalore, Apr 5: Decennial celebrations of Al-Badriya English Medium School at Krishnapura here will be held on Friday April 6 in the school premises. A Souvenir will be released and a library inaugurated as a part of the celebration.
Addressing a news conference on behalf of the school, school correspondent Aboobakar said that programme will be presided over by former education minister B A Moidin and K Reahman Khan will inaugurate the library. Iqbal Ansari will release the souvenir.
Al-Badriya was founded with the purposed of educating the poor students in the vicinity but today it has grown up to be a well-established set-up with good infrastructure, with over 850 students studying here. The school building was built, a computer lab, Chemistry lab set up and a play ground constructed at a total of Rs 60 lac.
Former Udupi MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, Suratkal MLA Krishna Palemar, former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty, and others will be chief guests at the celebration.
School president B S Umarabba, honorary president B M Mumtaz and secretary B A Nazeer will be present at the occasion.
