Kundapur, Apr 6: A long-awaited dream of the people of Byndoor has come true on Thursday April 5, when the Matsyagandha Express Train between Mumbai and Mangalore made a stopover at Byndoor railway station for the first time. With this a long-pending demand of the public has been fulfilled.

A large number of people gathered at railway station and offered pooja to the train that arrived at 5:20 pm to express their contentment.

Over 3,000 people had staged a ‘rail roko’ at Bynoor on April 16, 2006 and concerted efforts were made to exert pressure on politicians and officials to see that the train made a stopover.

The Matsyagandha Express and Netravati Express will stop at Byndoor railway station henceforth.
