Puttur, Apr 7:  The police have arrested 2 persons for illegal transport of cattle at Savanoor near here on Friday April 6 morning.

The arrested have been identified as K A Abdullah (34) and Mustafa.  Both of them said to be hailing from Mangalore.

They were held by police while transporting cattle illegally from Kaniyoor on Friday morning. The police intercepted the vehicle after receiving a sure tip-off.  The cattle were transported on Tata Mobile vehicle.  The police have seized 5 cows and the vehicle used for cattle running.

The arrested have already been produced in the court.
