Mangalore, Apr 7: Two persons were seriously injured in a lorry-bus collision at Kannur near here on Saturday April 7 evening.  The identity of the injured has not yet been established.

The accident occurred near R K Garage at Kannur on National Highway 48 when a KSRTC bus coming to the city from Puttur rammed into a lorry playing towards Adyar.

As a result, the lorry was heavily damaged and the drivers of both the vehicles sustained serious injuries.  However, they are out of danger as of now, said sources.

National Highway 48 was blocked for about an hour owing to the accident. Later a crane was summoned to remove the lorry from the spot.

A case has been registered by Kankanady police in this regard.
