Andrzej Duda wins presidential election in Poland: exit poll


Warsaw, May 25 (IANS): The preliminary exit poll results of Sunday's second round of presidential elections in Poland indicated that Andrzej Duda from the Law and Justice Party received 53 percent of all votes, thus winning the election.

Incumbent President Bronislaw Komorowski, backed by the Civic Platform party, scored 47 percents of all votes, reports Xinhua.

The turnout of voters was about 56.1 percent.

The preliminary results were presented at 10.30 in the evening, due to the prolonged election silence. The official results will be published by the National Election Commission on Monday evening.
