Bantwal, Apr 9: A young man who had gone fishing met watery grave in river Netravati at Manjalpade near Sajipa Munnur here on Sunday April 8 evening.

Deceased has been identified as Suresh Naik (29) of Kepu village.  He had gone fishing with his friend Uday Shettigar on Sunday evening.  It is said that while fishing he slipped and fell into the river. 

Since he did not know swimming, he could not come over. Though Uday shouted for help, Suresh drowned before anyone could come for his help.

His body was later fished out from the river by locals. Bantwal police have registered case in this regard.
