Puttur, Apr 9: District-level Kabaddi tournament was inaugurated at Indraprastha Vidyalaya premises on Sunday April 8.

The tournament was inaugurated by Mohan Kumar, founder president of PNR Group of Companies.  Amarnath Rai, president of Dakshina Kannada Amateur Kabaddi Committee presided over the inaugural function while Uppinangady circle inspector Manjunath Rai graced the occasion as chief guest.

Block Education Officer Y Shivaramayya, TP member Zohra Nisar, Uppinangady GP president Vinu Vargese, DCC member Jeevan Bhandari, Indraprastha Vidyalaya correspondent U N Nayak, taluk Kabaddi association president Chandrahas Shetty were also present on the dais.

Indraprastha Vidyalaya principal Raveendra Shetty welcomed the gathering while DK Kabaddi association president Purushotham proposed the vote of thanks.

Sanath Kumar Shetty and Malati compered the programme.

A total of 8 women’s' teams and 12 men's teams are participating in this floodlight tournament.
