Mangalore, Apr 9: A protest was organized in the city by the BJP activists on Monday April 7 evening, opposing the arrest of party’s national president Rajnath Singh with regard to the controversial CD which was distributed in Uttar Pradesh a few days ago. The CD is said to have contained some ‘objectionable’ material against a certain community.
The protest was a part of nation-wide agitation moved by BJP against the FIR filed against its national president Rajnath Singh in the case.
The BJP activists blocked the road at Mahaveer Circle (Pumpwell Circle) around 5.30 pm. This resulted in interruption of vehicular movement for sometime. MLA Yogish Bhat, Suratkal MLA J Krishna Palemar, BJP district president Monappa Bhandari were present at the protest meet.
Meanwhile police arrested some of the protestors in order to clear the road for traffick.
