Mangaluru, May 27: Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) constables, who many a time are deprived of holidays they are eligible for because of call of duty, had a surprise in store, when additional director general of police KSRP, Praveen Sood, announced that they will get opportunity to use the full casual leave of 15 days every year, in addition to ten earned holidays.

He was speaking after taking part as chief guest at the passing out parade of trainee KSRP constables from Bengaluru and Shiggaon units held on Tuesday may 26 at the parade ground at Asaigoli near here.

'KSRP constables have to give top priority to discipline. Any violation of discipline attracts severe punishment. They have to think before joining the force, and if they find that this work does not suit their lifestyle, they are free to resign and leave,' he said.

Sood said that women contingents are being added to KSRP shortly.

Among those who participated in this training, 151 were selected as constables. Those who participated in the training included graduates, postgraduates, diploma holders etc.

City police commissioner, Murugan, superintendent of police, Dr Sharanappa, and KSRP inspector general of police, Malini Krishnamurty, were present.
