Mangaluru, May 27: Dakshina Kannada district Congress leader and MUDA president Kodijal Ibrahim, Congress Sevadal president Ashraf, Padmanabh Narengan, president of Dakshina Kannada district Congress SC/ST cell and others paid floral tributes to the country's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 51st death anniversary at the district Congress office here on Wednesday May 27.

Addressing the gathering, Kodijal Ibrahim said, "The country's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru was the nation's messenger of peace. Though born into a very wealthy family, he worked towards the betterment of the country and the people. Nehru's daughter Indira Gandhi also worked for the society. On May 29 we will make the dreams of Gandhi, Nehru and Indira Gandhi come true by winning the Gram Panchayat elections. We will visit all the block Congress offices and encourage them."

Taking a dig at Modi's foreign tour, president of the district Youth Congress Mithun Rai said, "Modi promised to bring back the black money but he has failed and now he is going on foreign tours. It is time for the BJP people to bring Modi back to Indian soil."
