New Delhi, May 28 (IANS): Girls performed better than boys in the Class 10 results of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exam that were announced here on Thursday, official said.
The percentage of girls who qualified for higher class is 97.82, while for boys it was 96.98.
There was a drop in the overall pass percentage this year, which was 97.32 as compared to the 98.87 in the 2014.
The overall percentage of candidates qualified for admission in higher class in Thiruvananthapuram region is 99.77, which is the highest among all regions.
The total number of registered candidates was 13,73,853 - an increase of 3.37 percent over 2014 figure.
The official, however, admitted that the board website was down because of heavy traffic.
"I have been trying for 15 minutes to check my result but the website is not responding. The server is down," a student complained.
According to a CBSE statement, a total of 13,73,853 students were enrolled for the Class 10 board examination.
