Hot Saturday in Delhi, no relief likely on Sunday


New Delhi, May 30 (IANS): The searing heat on Saturday continued to make life miserable for the residents of the national capital as the maximum temperature settled two notches above the season's average at 42.6 degrees Celsius. No respite is likely on Sunday, the Met Office said.

According to the India Meteorological Department, Sunday will see clear skies and hot winds will blow through the day.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 43 and 28 degrees Celsius.

Saturday's minimum temperature was recorded at 27.6 degrees Celsius - average for this time of the season, while the day's maximum humidity was recorded at 54 percent.

Friday was hot with the maximum temperature settling at 42.1 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, while the minimum temperature was 27 degrees Celsius, normal for the season's average.
