Udupi, Apr 13: District Lions Club 324-D4 will be organizing a district conference at Shubhodaya Hall at Manipal here on Saturday April 14 and Sunday April 15. Lions Club of Davangere, Chitradurga, Shimoga and Udupi will be participating in the event.

Addressing a press meet here recently district Lions Club governor Prakash T Soans said that Lions Club International director K G Ramakrishna Murthi will be the chief guest on occasion. Prakash T Soans will preside over the ceremony while council president Dr B R Rai will be the guest of honour. Dr B S Nagaprakash will release a souvenir on the occasion.

He informed that the district Lions Club 324-D4 has spent Rs 2.25 crore on different developmental projects, with the help of 56 Lions Clubs and 33 Lioness Clubs. Blood donation camps were held in Davangere, Chitradurga, Shimoga and Udupi in which 8,650 units of blood were collected.

Lions Club has spent Rs 40 lac for various projects and it has built a hall for Chaitanya School for Mentally Challenged, Soans said.

Lions Club district cabinet secretary Vincent Pinto, joint secretary Dr Ganesh Pai, district PRO Oliver V Louis, George Samuel, D Sridhar Shevana and Jagadish Shetty were also present at the press meet.
