Man, grandson killed in Delhi road accident


New Delhi, June 1 (IANS): A 65-year-old man and his minor grandson were mowed down by a speeding car here on Monday morning, police said.

The incident occurred in Anand Vihar area of east Delhi.

Sulekh Chand and his 14-year-old grandson Rishabh, both residents of Yojna Vihar, were going on a two wheeler when a SUV hit them from behind.

"They were rushed to a nearby hospital by passers-by where they succumbed to their injuries," said a police official, adding the errant driver fled from the spot abandoning his vehicle.

"We are yet to arrest the driver as he is absconding," police said.
