Udupi, Apr 14: Centenary celebrations of Shri Durgadevi aided higher primary school of Paniyoor was held on April 13 evening.

Shri Vishwapriya Tirtha Swamiji of Admar Math inaugurated the programme.

Retired state attorney general B V Acharya presided over the function. C S Puttaraju, MLA of Pandavapura, released the souvenir ‘Shata Sambhrama’.

Dr Mohan Alva, president of Alvas’ Education Foundation, distributed prizes to various talented students.

Former Udupi MP Vinaykumar Sorake, deputy director of public education K Ananda, block education officer B Manjunath, chartered accountant R L Shetty, Sachin Shetty and Sadashiva Shetty from Mumbai, Karunakar Shetty of Ellurguttu, correspondent of the school Nadimane B Mohan Rai and school betterment committee president Y Prafulla Shetty were the chief guests of the function.

Deviprasad Shetty welcomed the gathering. Headmaster of the school B Raviraj Bhat presented the report. Rakesh Kunjur proposed vote of thanks.
