Manipur killings 'very distressing': Modi


New Delhi, June 4 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi described as "very distressing" Thursday's militant attack in Manipur that left 20 soldiers dead.

"Today's mindless attack in Manipur is very distressing. I bow to each and every soldier who has sacrificed his life for the nation," Modi wrote on his Twitter account.

According to latest reports, at least 20 soldiers were killed and 11 others injured when militants ambushed an army convoy in Manipur on Thursday, in the worst such attack on the Indian Army in over a decade.
