UP hospitals to receive uninterrupted power supply

Lucknow, June 6 (IANS): The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) on Saturday issued orders for round-the-clock power supply to all 85 government hospitals across the state, an official said.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had earlier directed principal secretary power and chairman of UPPCL, Sanjay Agarwal to ensure round-the-clock power supply to the hospitals so that patients are not made to suffer owing to power outages.

The orders have already been implemented at places where 33 KV independent feeders have become functional, an official told IANS.

Orders were issued to all control rooms from our end and we are now monitoring the implementation, said a senior official.

According to official sources, work on 33 KV independent feeders is underway at 44 other hospitals and it would be finished within the next two months.

"We hope to ensure that all government hospitals in the state, as per the wishes of the chief minister, get uninterrupted power supply during summer and thereafter as well," officials said.
