Kundapur, Apr 19: Union Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes said that Employment Guarantee Scheme will be introduced to 330 districts in the country.
Speaking at the Congress Workers’ convention he said that the government has plans to extend employment guarantee scheme to 330 districts. He also said that midday meals are being distributed to 12 crore children in the country and the government aims to provide quality education to children under Sarva Shikshana Abhiyana.
Senior Congress leader B Chandregowda criticized the government for postponing the election of the local bodies in the state for the last six months. He said that the coalition partners who came into power through scrupulous means are misusing the power and that the sanctity of the budget has been dropedown. The money has been distributed as per to their wishes and fancies.
Former minister Mahadevu, MLC Dr Haanumanthappa, MLA K Gopal Poojary, Former MP VinayKumar Sorake, KPCC Vice president K Prathapachandra Shetty, I M Jayaram Shetty and KPMCC General Secretary Shamala Bhandary were also present at the occasion.
