'Rapes happen with mutual consent': UP Minister's shocker

Mainpuri, Jun 7 (PTI): A minister in the Akhilesh Yadav-led government in Uttar Pradesh has said that "rapes happen with the mutual consent of boys and girls".

On Saturday, Totaram Yadav, when asked if rape incidents in the state could be controlled, said, "What is rape? There is nothing as such. Rapes happen with the mutual consent of boys and girls."

The senior Samajwadi Party leader also sought to classify rapes into two types - "one which is forced and another that happens with mutual consent."

Yadav made the remarks while speaking to reporters after inspecting a district jail. He, however, refused to elaborate on his controversial comments.

Lat year, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav had sparked outrage with his comments questioning the death sentence handed out to three men who were convicted of two gang-rapes in Mumbai.

"Should rape cases be punished with hanging? They are boys, they make mistakes," the SP chief had said.

This is the after effect of all modern movies and similar social media. Movie stars and politicians are No.1 cancer in our society. They earn enormous amount of money and fame at our children and our cost. Movie stars make money from movies and becoming brand ambassadors of company/product and on ads etc etc.and we keep on worshipping them and ready to give our lives for them not realizing that they have already sucked life out of us and our children. Politicians also hoard enormous illegal wealth by corruption, scams and loot. So, people wake up to the world of reality make your wise choice to change this practice and society while you cast your vote for our children's sake.

In some rape cases the victim seems to be silent and all the noise/ out bust only when she realizes that the boy is not ready to accept her in life. Sometimes till seventh month of pregnancy.

We can not outrightly deny or condemn what the minister has said.
There are many instances where sexual intercourses with mutual consent, later have been reported as rape because of various reasons.
All can recollect the incidence in Kundapur a couple of days ago, where a rape case was filed after the girl's house hold came know that she was pregnant.
Till the recent Supreme court order, in most of the broken love cases, the boy had to face rape charges though the act was consensual.
    Give a thought guys.
