Modi meets Bangladesh opposition leader


Dhaka, June 7 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met Bangladesh Leader of Opposition, Begum Rowshan Ershad.

"Reaching out across the political spectrum. PM@narendramodi meets Begum Rowshan Ershad, Leader of Opposition," Vikas Swarup, spokesperson of the external affairs ministry spokesman, tweeted.

Rowshan Ershad, the wife of former Bangladesh president Hussain Mohammad Ershad, is a presidium member of the Jatiya Party (Ershad).

Modi is also scheduled to meet Bangladesh Nationalist Party chief, Khaleda Zia, later in the day.
