Pakistan firing across LoC triggers landmine explosions


Jammu, Jun 8 (IANS): Breaching the ceasefire on the Line of Control, Pakistani troops on Sunday evening fired towards Indian positions in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, triggering a series of landmine explosions, officials said. No casualties or damage was reported.

"Pakistan army fired towards the Indian army positions in Balakote sector of the LoC in Poonch district in evening," a senior police officer told IANS here.

"As a result of the firing, a series of landmine explosions have occurred near the LoC," he said.

He put the number of the explosions at about 20.

"No casualty or damage has so far been reported on the Indian side," he added.
