26 killed in Pakistan attack


Islamabad, June 8 (IANS): At least 19 terrorists and seven soldiers were killed on Monday in suicide attack and the ensuing gun battle between security forces and militants in North Waziristan along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR), the intense exchange of gunfire took place in an uncleared pocket in North Waziristan along the Afghan border, Geo News reported.

Security forces chased and cordoned off the militants when one of them detonated his suicide jacket, an ISPR spokesperson said.

Seven soldiers, including five officials, were killed in the explosion, he said.
