Jagan to meet president to seek probe against Naidu

Hyderabad, June 8 (IANS): YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will meet President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on Tuesday to demand probe against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in cash-for-vote scandal.

The main opposition party in Andhra Pradesh has decided to take the matter to the notice of the central government.

Jagan, as the young leader is popularly known, will also meet union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday, party sources said.

YSRCP has demanded that Naidu resign as the chief minister on moral grounds.

After Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislator in Telangana A. Revanth Reddy was caught red-handed while offering Rs.50 lakh to nominated legislator Elvis Stephenson on May 31 to make him vote for the TDP-BJP candidate in the legislative council polls, Jagan had met Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and demanded thorough probe into Naidu's role.

An audio tape of Naidu's purported telephonic conversation with Stephenson was aired on some television channels on Sunday.
