Sweltering Monday in Kolkata, no respite soon


Kolkata, June 8 (IANS): The eastern metropolis experienced hot and humid weather on Monday and no respite is likely in the next two days, the Met office said.

"Overall, there was humidity and discomfort with the maximum temperature at 36.7 degrees Celsius and a maximum humidity level of around 50 percent," a Met official said.

He said there was no rainfall during the day and there was no possibility of respite in the next couple of days either.
