Panaji, Apr 21:  With state legislative assembly elections declared in Goa, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has stuck to its demand for ten out of 40 seats as a pre-condition for alliance with Congress.

"We have made it clear that we will settle for less than ten seats. We have specified all ten seats and the party has been actively working in these constituencies to keep BJP out in the ensuing elections," Dr Wilfred D'Souza, Goa unit president, NCP told reporters.

Goa will go for polls on June two.

The NCP, an alliance partner in the current Congress-led government, has said that it will be difficult for Congress to go for polls bereft of NCP.
