Mangalore, Apr 21: With festivities of Brahmakalabhisheka and installation of a new idol at the recently constructed Gopalkrishna Temple at Classic Village, Shaktinagar here only four days away, the Temple authorities are all set to recieve the idol of the main diety from Mysore on Saturday April 21.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday April 20, temple committee convener M B Puranik informed that the Gopalkrishna Temple will be opened for public on Wednesday April 25, on the occasion of Brahmakalabhisheka and 'Bimba Pratishte' which will go on till Monday April 30.
The idol, measuring two feet, has been carved out of black stone by Shyam Sunder of Mysore. The idol will be recieved at Puttur and will be brought to the city by devotees, he said.
There will also be a 'hore kanike' procession on April 25 in the city.
The temple consists of five floors and has been built in a span of just 15 months, well-equipped to cater to the needs of the devotees, Puranik said.
Among those present were managing trustee of the Temple K C Naik, secretary Mahabala Shetty, joint secretary Krishna Kumar and treasurer Sanjit Naik.
