PM sends Jitendra Singh to Myanmar

New Delhi, June 10 (IANS): A day after the Indian Army's retaliatory strike in Myanmar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked his ministerial colleague Jitendra Singh to go to that country to take stock of the situation, official sources said on Wednesday.

He will interact with various people there, the sources said.

Jitendra Singh, minister of state in the Prime Minister's Office, will also visit Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.

The army on Tuesday carried out a surgical strike inside Myanmar against the groups of insurgents believed to be responsible for the ambush on army personnel in Manipur on June 4.
