Honour killings in MP village


Tikamgarh, June 11 (IANS): In a suspected case of honour killing, a young couple was shot dead in Tikamgarh village of Madhya Pradesh, police said here on Thursday.

Police is further investigating the case.

"Post mortem report is awaited at the moment and only then the cause of death will be confirmed," Additional Police Superintendent Sunil Tiwari told IANS.

"Bodies of the young couple was found in Hanupura, which falls under Mohangarh police station. The couple's affair was widely talked about in the village which could have caused honour killing," Tiwari added.

The couple has been identified as Badi Raja and Bhan singh.

According to locals, the girl (Badi Raja) was about to get married on Thursday.
