After CEO's arrest with drugs, Narcotics Control Bureau pursues lead

Chennai, June 11 (IANS): The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is actively pursuing the leads to crack the drug distribution network in the region after it took into custody the CEO of a MNC electronic publishing company, a senior official said.

"We have got some leads and I have shared the same with my counterpart in Bengaluru," NCB zonal director Prem Anand Sinha told IANS.

On Wednesday, NCB picked up 50-year-old Sanjiv Bhatnagar, CEO of Jouve.India Pvt Ltd, for possessing cocaine.

He was taken into custody soon after he took delivery of around four gram cocaine parcel from a courier company here.

Sinha ruled out the involvement of the courier company in the racket and said the sender's address is wrong.

He said Bhatnagar has not applied for bail as far as he know and is also not suffering from any withdrawal symptoms.

He said Bhatnagar had said that he has been receiving such parcel for the past one year.

Bhatnagar's driver too was taken into custody.
