Two dead in Madhya Pradesh clash


Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh), Jun 12 (IANS): Two people were killed and four others injured in a clash between two rival groups in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, police said.

The clash in Gunjliya village took place over some old dispute, officer in-charge L.S. Parmar of Ratangarh police station told IANS.

He said the families of Gajendra Singh and Bairam were embroiled in a dispute over the past few years. The dispute had also reached court.

On Thursday, when Bairam and two of his family members were passing through a field, Gajendra and some of his relatives allegedly stopped them and opened fire. Bairam's relatives were also attacked with swords, the police official said.

Some villagers gathered at the spot, and beat up Gajendra. A clash ensued and both Gajendra and Bairam were killed.

The injured were admitted to the district hospital, while police have been deployed in the village to control the situation.
