MERS cases in South Korea rise to 126


Seoul, Jun 12 (IANS): Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) cases in South Korea have increased to 126 on Friday, authorities said.

Four more people tested positive for the MERS virus on Friday, Xinhua news agency reported. All of them contracted the virus from the 14th patient from Samsung Medical Centre in Seoul.

According to officials, the 14th patient, called the 'super spreader', has infected more than 60 people at the Samsung hospital.

Nine people have so far died because of the virus in the country.
